Bengals LB David Pollack, a former first-round pick in 2005, plans to retire.

“He is not completely comfortable where he is medically,” head coach Marvin Lewis said. “We know the quality of the person. We’re proceeding that he will not be part of the football team.”

Pollack busted his C6 vertebrae in Game 2 of the 2006 season and hasn’t played since.
