jared.jpgThe Kansas City Star reported on Tuesday night that Jared Allen agreed to a six year $74 million contract with more than $31 million guaranteed. Jared Allen was not a free agent (he actually was franchised by Kansas City), so Minnesota sent them the 17th pick in this year’s draft and two third round picks (No. 73 and No. 82). The teams also swapped spots in the sixth round with the Vikings getting a better spot in the sixth round, sources said.

This is a great move for both teams. Kansas City now has two first rounders (No. 5 and No. 17) in an attempt to get younger. And Minnesota adds one of the best pass rushers in the NFL to their defense.

It’s pretty obvious that Lito and draft picks couldn’t get this deal done. Sorry Eagles fans.
