Jimmy Rollins Ankle Update

May 1, 2008

jimjim.jpgThings are now not looking good for Jimmy Rollins. According to Philly.com, “There is some doubt about whether the shortstop will be ready to rejoin the team on Monday, when he is eligible to be activated from the disabled list.”

Furthermore, Philly.com reports, Rollins, who has already had an X-ray and an MRI, said no further tests are planned. He said sometimes the pain in the ankle is sharp. Other times, he said, “it’s just there.” This means he won’t be on a minor league field tonight making his first rehab assignment. In fact, the Phillies still don’t have definite plans for Rollins, other than the day-to-day game of wait-and-see that has lasted more than 3 weeks.

I wonder what the ’sharp’ pains are from?

Remember: When we reported he had a broken bone in his ankle and it could hold him out longer than first anticipated? Could he have a break in a small, non-weight bearing bone? Could he have a chipped bone that was causing the swelling? OTR doesn’t know the specifics, but our source is still reporting that it was more than a sprain. The latest rumors about Rollins not coming back by May 5th sure has us wondering what the deal is. He’s been out of the starting lineup since April 8th (23 days).

Only if you knew, barry, only if you really knew. The Phillies organization is the fraud. It’s not a flop of a story, believe me. If you knew who our source was, you would think different. Just sit back and wait for Monday.

Wouldn’t he be making rehab starts if it wasn’t serious and he wasn’t still in pain? Things that make you go hmmmmm?

    Freddie Garcia? Hmmmm?
