Engram wants more money
May 6, 2008
A source has told the News Tribune (a newspaper) that Bobby Engram is skipping voluntary team workouts because he wants more money. He is scheduled to make $1.7 million this year, which would seem to be a lot, but not when you compare it to the other receivers on the roster.
Deion Branch, who never plays because he is always hurt, will make a little over $4 million with bonuses this year. Nate Burleson, who caught 9 TD’s last year (that many?) will make $3.25 million.
Engram caught 94 balls last year for 1,147 yards and 6 TD’s and is in the final year of his contract. Good luck with that, Bobby.
