A former O.J. Mayo associate told ESPN’s Outside the Lines that an L.A.-based event promoter gave former USC guard O.J. Mayo about $30,000 in cash and gifts over the last four years while Mayo was in high school and at USC. Personally, we don’t care. Give the kid whatever you want. But, the NCAA tends to frown upon it.
Stay tuned on this one. The only real loser here could be USC’s basketball program. Mayo didn’t break any law if he did accept gifts.
