Kimbo Slices James Thompson’s ear

Last night on CBS undefeated internet star Kimbo Slice TKO’d James “The Colossus” Thompson at EliteXC’s event at the Prudential Center.

Both of Thompson’s ears going into the fight were all cauliflowered up. Cauliflower ear is a condition when the outer ear becomes permanently swollen and deformed (cartilage dies and fibrous tissue is formed) from a blood clot or other fluids collecting under the perichondrium. I play doctor for a sentence every now and then.

In the beginning of the third round last night Kimbo threw a haymaker with his right fist that landed on Thompson’s ear causing it to pop instantaneously. Blood started dripping from the ear, Kimbo landed three or four more punches to the face, and the referee stepped in to end the fight. Shall we watch?

    Kimbo’s punching power is unreal. What an f’n beast. He was really lucky that they didn’t stop the fight in the second round when he had both hands pinned down and was getting pummeled over and over in the head.

    How disgusting was that ear? It looked like it was ready to fall off.
