At least for this season. At 11:30am today, the Braves have scheduled a press conference and during that press conference they will announce that pitcher John Smoltz will have season-ending shoulder surgery.

Smoltz spent five weeks on the disabled list already this season with an inflamed rotator cuff.

The Braves bullpen is about as reliable right now as Shania Twain’s former best friend.
