Wow, this one slipped through the cracks. OTR has learned that NBA legend Magic Johnson has acquired the HIV virus. After some serious Google searches, OTR learned that this is the virus that leads to AIDS.

Johnson apparently made the announcement in 1991, and because the internet wasn’t really out yet, we missed it.

OTR doesn’t really know the effect that this will have on his basketball career or whether he will be able to come back to the Lakers in time for Games 6 and/or 7 of the NBA Finals.

The root of our confusion stems from the fact that there has been so little media coverage on this. Why hasn’t anyone reported this? Did we not hear about it because we don’t read newspapers or watch television? That can’t be it.
