Some dope will take Cadillac Williams in the third round this year. If that happens at your draft, then point at the guy who took him. And then laugh. On into the night.

Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reasonably assumes that Cadillac will start the year on the PUP list, meaning he’s out for the first six weeks of the season. At that point, they will evaluate him and go from there. Cummings, however, really thinks they will just move him to IR at that point and shelve him for the season.

While the Bucs have said great things about his recovery, it’s still a torn patellar tendon and the wear and tear on a RB is tough. They have enough other options that they are probably best off stashing him away and seeing what he can bring to the table in 2009.

A top-five overall pick in 2005, right now Cadillac isn’t looking like a good choice.
