Greek Olympiakos interested in Childress?

Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo! Sports is reporting, “In a potentially stunning move that reflects the growing challenge Europe’s basketball leagues pose to the NBA, Atlanta Hawks free-agent forward Josh Childress is strongly considering a three-year, $20 million offer from Greek powerhouse Olympiakos, several league sources said Sunday night.

If an NBA team signs Childress to an offer sheet, the Hawks would have the rights to match, but this won’t be the case if he signs with the FIBA’s Olympiakos.

  1. This would be fantastic if it actually happened. The NBA gets so much wrong it is ridiculous. This would just be another example of a league that needs to be revamped getting exposed.

Perry, would it surprise you if he can’t get a 3 year, 20mil deal here in the NBA? Is he worth that kind of money?

  2. Perry says:

Atlanta Hawks can’t pay him 3 and 20.

I have word that Childress will play in Greece next year.

I’d rather get paid in the Euro right now. I could see this happening to other NBA players. Plus, kids coming out of high school that aren’t eligible for the NBA are going to start heading overseas to make their money.

So the Olympiakos want to bring the worst looking jump shot in basketball to Europe? Enjoy…

  4. John Rocker says:

Shawn Marion isn’t going to the Olympiakos?
