Broncos veteran safety John Lynch has left the Broncos after asking for his release on Tuesday night.
“I sat down and talked to John at the end of our OTAs and I think John knows that as you get older there are no promises,” Shanahan said last Thursday, the day before training camp started. “All you will do is talk to a player and share with Denver Broncos them that you will give them an opportunity to start, an opportunity to do what he’s done in the past, but there are no guarantees in this league.”
He’ll turn 37 in September and it will most likely be tough to find a place to play. The Rocky Mountain News has said that he’s likely to be released.
That would make perfect sense.
