Ron Artest Rule: A player shall receive 1 point for every game he is suspended up to a maximum of 16 points per suspension. If the player is suspended during the playoffs or the suspension carries over into the playoffs, the same rules apply and 2 bonus points are awarded.
Michael Vick Rule: A player must be in jail for over 24 hours to be eligible for this rule. A player shall receive points based on amount of time served in jail on a 30-day tier up to a maximum of 360 days. The tier is as follows:
24 hours to 30 days = 3 points
30+ days to 60 days = 6 points
60+ days to 90 days = 9 points
90+ days to 120 days = 12 points
120+ days to 150 days = 15 points
150+ days to 180 days = 18 points
180+ days to 210 days = 21 points
210+ days to 240 days = 24 points
240+ days to 270 days = 27 points
270+ days to 300 days = 30 points
300+ days to 330 days = 33 points
330+ days to 360 days = 36 points
Points will be awarded after sentencing, however your player will be awarded the points if he is being held in jail during the trial based on the above tier. If a player is convicted and sentenced for more than one year in prison, they shall receive 10 bonus points, plus be awarded the maximum 36 points. If a player is sentenced but then awarded with an early release, that player will receive negative 3 points for every 30 days he did not do time (this has been amended).
Shawn Merriman Rule: If a player tests positive for any type of anabolic steroid or performance enhancing drug, they shall receive points based on what number offense it is. First-time offenders shall receive 2 points. Second-time offenders shall receive 4 points. Third-time (or more) offenders shall receive 8 points.
Josh Howard Rule: If a player is arrested or charged for possession or tests positive for a controlled substance, they shall receive points based on what number offense it is. First-time offenders shall receive 2 points. Second-time offenders shall receive 4 points. Third-time (or more) offenders shall receive 8 points.
Nate Netwon Rule: If a player is arrested or charged for possession with the intent to distribute any type of controlled substance, they shall receive 10 bonus points, plus points awarded from the Josh Howard Rule.
Tony LaRussa Rule: If a player is arrested or charged for DUI or DWI, they shall receive 5 points. If that player has fallen asleep in their car, they shall receive 2 bonus points.
Marshawn Lynch Rule: A player shall receive 1 point for every traffic violation. If that traffic violation includes speeding over 100 mph, they shall receive 2 bonus points. If that traffic violation includes charges related to drag racing, they shall receive 2 bonus points.
Brett Myers Rule: If a player is arrested or charged with assaulting a woman or domestic violence, they shall receive negative 10 points. Off The Record does not condone (or encourage) this type of behavior, so points will be taken away from your team. OTR believes any man that commits this type of crime is a scumbag. Your team will be awarded for your players being turds, not scumbags. If your player falls into this rule, that player is not eligible for points in any other rule.
***OTR actually does not condone or encourage any of the listed behaviors***
Tank Johnson Rule: If a player is arrested or charged with weapons possession, aggravated assault, or resisting arrest they shall receive 5 points for each.
Pacman Jones Rule: If a player is involved with any altercation or arrest stemming from a nightclub or stripclub, that player shall receive 5 points. If said altercation or arrest involves “making it rain,” that player shall receive 10 bonus points.
NBA All-Star Weekend Rule: If a player is arrested or charged for any misdemeanor in Las Vegas, Nevada or during NBA All-Star Weekend, that player shall receive 15 points.
Allen Iverson Rule: If a player on your team has a recognized posse and a member of that posse is arrested or charged with anything related to drugs or weapons, that player shall receive 5 points.
Cincinnati Bengals Rule: Each team is allowed to draft one sports team from four of the major sports (hockey, basketball, football, and baseball). If a player or coach from that team is (or would be) awarded points from any Fantasy Turd League rule, that team will be awarded 1 point for that rule.
Stephen Jackson Rule: If a player violates his probation, that player shall receive 2 points.
Bill Romanowski Rule: If a player is fined by the team or league he plays for, that player shall receive points based on the dollar amount of the fine multiplied by .10% up to a maximum of 30 points. This rule also applies to a player getting suspended without pay where the fine equals the loss in salary. This rule does not apply to a player holding out.
Terrell Owens Rule: If a player is suspended for Conduct Detrimental to the Team, that player shall receive 3 points.
Roger Clemens Rule: If a player is suspected or convicted of lying under oath, that player shall receive 5 points.
Anthony Spencer Rule: If a player is arrested for public intoxication or disorderly conduct, that player shall receive 2 points. If that player tried giving the bar money to stay open later, that player shall receive 5 bonus points.

What about if a player is not only kicked off a team but suspended indefinitely?
What about an Albert Haynesworth rule? I think kicking or stepping on teammates/opposing players should count for something.
This is scaring me… I’m starting to realize that there are A LOT of a-holes in sports. Could sports ruin my life?
I was thinking about adding an Albert Haynesworth rule. It would have to be an on-field altercation that represents the player as being a complete turd. I will add a Haynesworth rule. Good work, Dan.
And for the suspended indefinitely. That will most likely be part of the Ron Artest rule combined with the Chris Henry rule. That would be 16 points plus 20 points for a total of 36 points. That is equal to a 12 month jail-term. Jackpot baby!!!!!!!!!!!
That is awesome! When do we draft?
In my opinion, the points awarded for the Ron Artest rule are on the low side. Based on some of the other rules, shouldn’t a one game suspension be worth more than 1 point?
Also, can you even it out more for football vs other sports (other than making the 16 game max)? Shouldn’t 1 football game = 10 baseball games, since there are 10x as many baseball games as football games?
Maybe…
10 points / game for a football game suspension
2 points / game for a basketball or hockey suspension
1 point / game for a baseball game suspesion
So, Ben….you are telling me that the Pacman Jones suspension should be worth 160 points based on your formula?
That completely blows out every other rule I have listed.
You can’t base the points on the sport that has the most games, you have to base it on the sport that has the least amount of games.
How many baseball players get suspended for a whole season?
Im in this is gonna be great !!!!
hey, when does the next “season” start, I want in on this.
