Agreed, Frank. My point wasn't even so much about the reaction to Rollins' comments. Just in general we are a sensitive fan base.

I only wish you were still in the P.R.O. League so I could hear you and V. banter on this topic during the draft.

Seriously, I originally was ticked at Rollins for calling us frontrunners -- until I listened to his logic behind the comment. His explanation made sense to those with enough of an open mind to hear the man out. He is guilty of nothing more than poor word choice.

I'm on the fence with this one. I have always thought booing a struggling player is counter productive. Do you think making Pat Burrell dread coming to the plate last year made him settle in more and concentrate on what he needs to do? I highly doubt it. He came around after people got tired of booing (half way through the year, because us Philly fans don't give up easily).

That being said, Jimmy Rollins could have used alot better verbage and tone to make his point (if it was really necessary to make his point at all).

Philadelphia fans are loyal to their teams like no other city and we REALLY want to win. Sometimes we express that in the wrong manner towards individuals on our teams which, again, may be counter productive.

First off Micah. Calm your Jersey ass down. Because you know what Jimmy wasn't talking about his fans that reside just a few blocks from the stadium that have generations of Phillies fans that have purchased season tickets for years and years. He was talking about the influx of teenie-boppin a-holes that have come to this new ballpark. This new ballpark is not conducive to the avid baseball fan, it is marketed to the person that is out to have a good time. Half the people in that stadium are bombed before even setting foot in the door, and it just so happens that when they look past their bottle of beer something is going wrong in the game and they boo. What I am trying to get at is they aren't paying attention to the game as a whole they are just looking at individual plays here and there when they are not dicking around with all the other bells and whistles in that stadium.

It just seems like the crazy ass eagle fans jumped ship onto the Phillies because they have a better shot at winning in the present. I am an eagles fan, but the same thing happened to them and is a deterant for me going to the games. A bunch of suburban and Jersey douches that don't know how to act in public.

And if you are embarrassed to support teams from the 215. STOP CROSSING THE FUCKING BRIDGE!

Hey Micah, first time, long time. Philly fans make want to stop going to games. They nauseate me. Was wondering if you had any opinions on the Women's beach volleyball final? I am a huge Misty May fan. John Guilfoil LOVES the caps lock.

He was wrong to say it. He shouldn't have said it. One of the reasons he shouldn't have said it is because of the way the fan base takes criticism.

If Phillies fans really wanted to make a statement they should have let out a huge cheer when J. Roll took the plate for the first time. Kill 'em with kindness. He would have felt like such an idiot if the fan would have cheered for him. He would have been like..."What?"

I hear you, Micah. While he may have made a mistake in saying what he said, his bigger mistake is the way that he has carried himself.

First they (Rollins and the Phillies) lie about his injury and say nothing was broken (it was, and I believe it may still be bothering him).

Then dude is late for the game in New York, and acts like a child with zero accountability.

Now this drama. It's time for the Jason Donald era to begin next year. Trade this waste of skin in the offseason and move on.

He is right about Philly fans though. Frontrunner was indeed the wrong word, but his point was accurate. Pat the Bat is a perfect example. So is Howard, and Rollins as well.

I don't get the whole booing thing to begin with, at least not how Philly fan uses it. When you boo all the time, it doesn't do any good at all.

I agree, Phillie fans can dish it out, but they can't deal with ANY criticism thrown back at them . As for the ""language" in the article, although written so that Phillie fans would get the "jist" of the article , is wasting all those $$ 's spent in a University to "learn" a more descriptive use of the English vocabulary. ( sigh)
