Jaguars RB Fred Taylor was arrested early this morning outside of a Miami nightclub and charged with disorderly conduct.

Taylor was not taken to jail. He was released on his own recognizance and promised to show up to court.

Authorities say they were planning on taking him to the station, but were afraid he’d get hurt.

UPDATE:
According to Taylor’s agent, he was never formally arrested, he was given a ticket.

“It’s nothing more than a ticket, just like if you were pulled over for speeding or pulled over with a problem with your license and they give you a date and a time and a document to appear,” his attorney Adam Swickle said. “He was never formally arrested, never booked, didn’t post a bond and he has not been charged with anything. We’re pretty confident obviously that he won’t be charged with anything.I can tell you, there is no way he could’ve been arrested because he never would have been given a notice to appear.”
