Oregon offensive tackle Fenuki Topou served a one-game suspension over the weekend during the Duck’s win over Washington. Why you ask? He admitted to accepting $100 from an LMM Sports Management agent.
According to NCAA bylaws, “athletes can meet with agents, but can’t accept any benefits or enter a formal agreement until their playing eligibility is complete.”
Topou explained to NCAA officials that after a $10 lunch (I’ll get to that) the representative placed five $20 dollar bills into his hand during the parting handshake. If you haven’t already, write this down ‘L-M-M S-p-o-r-t-s M-a-n-a-g-e-m-e-n-t.’ Apparently, they are high rollers. Screw a car. Screw an X-box. Screw a free night at the strip club (with a chance to meet Pacman). I’m talking about FIVE $20 DOLLAR BILLS! I call that a hunge.
Tupou said he tried to return the cash several times, but was refused.
PHOTO CAPTION: I’m not sure, but I think this is Fenuki Topou. Maybe? Kinda looks like a Fenuki Topou, no?
Yeah, so back to the $10 lunch (agent paid for this as well). Topou is an offensive tackle. A 6-foot-6, 330 pound offensive tackle. $10 lunch? Ten items from the dollar menu? Two medium pizzas (with a topping) from Domino’s? One spicy tuna roll? Hey, LMM Sports Management has a budget. They respect it, and so should you.
With all joking aside, I applaud Fenuki Topou for coming clean and erasing his guilty conscience. More athletes should be like him.

Nobody likes a tattle-tail?
Interesting point. I never thought of it that way.
