It is being reported to OTR that Chicago has been completely taken over by Philadelphia Eagles fans.  They have been flocking to the city since Friday and it hasn’t stopped.  E-A-G-L-E-S chants can be heard in almost every single Chicago bar, pub, grille, club, restaurant, and tavern.

Loyal OTR reader and fellow F2 Wachovia Center tailgater Doug Ford was quoted saying last night, “Chicago was not ready for this.  We have taken over.”

PHOTO CAPTIONEagles fans have not allowed Chicago residents/Bears fans to enjoy their local establishments.

The Philadelphia Eagles play the Chicago Bears tonight at 8:15 at Soldier Field.

This complete takeover in Chicago by Philadelphia Eagles fans was to be expected.  Chicago is a very vulnerable city with a very weak fan base compared to Philadelphia.  OTR imagines tonight’s game to feel like a home game for the Philadelphia Eagles.

I went to Chicago for the Eagles game four years ago. We rocked that city then, too. Harry Carey’s bar was so packed with Eagles fans that 1) A Bears fan walked in, was greeted with an asshole chant and walked right out, and 2) The fire marshall came in and tried to get some of us out because there were too many people inside. Good times!

Too bad you couldn’t take over their football field.

You know why Harry’s was full of Eagle fans? Because you totally rocked a tourist trap, nice work! I hope you enjoyed your overpriced dinner and drinks? And its Harry Caray, not Carey.

Got something to say?
