After jumping out to a scorching one-game lead in the Atlantic Division with just 81 games left, the New York Knicks collapsed on Friday night to the 76ers 116-87.
If these were the only two teams in the division, the entire division would be tied at 1-1.

The Philadelphia Phillies took Game 5 on Wednesday night to take a seemingly insurmountable 4-1 lead in the World Series.
We look ahead to Game 6 where James Shields will take the mound for the Rays in Tampa.
“Teams have come back from 4-1 deficits before, we just have to take it one game at a time,” [...]

Torry Holt recently said that he’s surprised by his reduced role in the St. Louis Rams’ offense.
“Yeah, absolutely, I’m surprised,” Holt said through a Hungarian interpreter. “But I guess they feel that Donnie obviously has been stepping up and making some huge plays, and they want to continue to get him the football.”
Does Holt [...]

What do you get when a small-market team plays the Philadelphia Phillies in October?  You guessed it, the worst-rated, least-watched World Series of all-time.
In the past ten years, the five best-rated World Series’ were 1999 (16.0), 2004 (15.8), 2001 (15.7), 1998 (14.1), and 2003 (12.8).  Other than 2004 which featured the Boston Red Sox and St Louis [...]

Utah Jazz’ Deron Williams has been sidelined for the start of the NBA season with a sprained ankle. And he is annoying the bejesus out of his teammates. Yes, the bejesus.
During Wednesday’s game against Denver, apparently Deron spent most of the game chatting up a storm while sitting on the bench with his [...]

The Houston Rockets defeated the Dallas Mavericks last night 112-102 behind Yao Ming and Ron Artest’s combined 59 points.
Along with the win, Ron Ron was pleased with his behavior. He congratulated himself for his restraint from not fighting or cursing during an altercation between Yao Ming and Josh Howard.
“It happens,” Artest said. “No [...]

This story has been very bizarre and hopefully we will get all the answers shortly.  To catch us up to speed like Josh Howard in a drag race, on October 24th Isiah Thomas was taken to the hospital after overdosing on sleeping pills.  Apparently, all the sleeping pills he took while running the Knicks for [...]

Philadelphia was ready to celebrate their first championship in 25 years on Monday night.  The table was set with their ace on the mound and a 3-1 series lead.  Then the winds and rains came suspending not only the game, but a party and celebration only the Philadelphia faithful could host.  The snow and sleet arrived on Tuesday giving the [...]

ESPN’s John Clayton reports that Daunte Culpepper and the Detroit Lions are in contract negotiations. It’s not known exactly whey the 0-7 Lions are looking for a QB since they have Joe-Montana-in-the-making Dan Orlovsky.
Culpepper hasn’t made any contract demands as of yet, but it seems that he’ll be a Lion at some point.

Danyelle Sargent didn’t do a ton of research before interviewing Mike Singletary on the sideline. In fact, we would conclude that she did none. Singletary was a Bear. Ditka would probably be his mentor. And as for talking to Bill Walsh? He probably hasn’t spoken to Bill since July 2007….when [...]

Bud Selig has announced that the continuation of Game 5 won’t be played until Wednesday night at 8:37pm.
With the rain scheduled to continue in Philly tonight, Selig surely doesn’t want to repeat the unmitigated debacle that occurred on Monday night.
The original game was allowed to go on far too long before being cancelled.

And here is why: Al Sharpton is demanding that the NY Post apologize for Steve Serby’s wording in a recent column that said “Good for Tom Coughlin. Good for Coughlin for tightening the noose around Plaxico Burress.”

Defensive lineman Brett Keisel says that he read Eli Manning’s lips in the huddle before the fourth down rushing attempt by Brandon Jacobs. Incidentally, Jacobs was stuffed at the goal line.

Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports has an interesting article on Mike Singletary and his tirade regarding players who are cancers.
Apparently, Singletary ripped his team a new one in the locker following their embarrassing 34-13 loss to the Seahawks.

Daunte Culpepper could be returning to the NFL if anyone decides to sign him. He’s been saying for a while that he’s happy being retired. Maybe he was trying some reverse psychology? Anyway, it didn’t work and now he releases this statement to the media:
