I got a chance to hang out with former slugger Darryl Strawberry yesterday. Make all the jokes you want, he’s a hell of a nice guy. We joked around with him for a while and even got a chance to talk some baseball.

“So Darryl,” I asked inquisitively because it’s the only wan I know how. “Do my Phillies have a chance?”

“Oh yeah,” he responded. “They definitely have a chance.”

This was the direct opposite of what David Wells told me. And he’s not alone. I spoke with several baseball people yesterday and three team names kept coming up: The Red Sox, Dodgers and Rays.

Darryl is the only guy that gave the Phillies any kind of shot.
