Thanks to our friends at TMZ.com (they know who we are) for tipping us off on this one. Former boxer Floyd Cummings has filed a lawsuit against ESPN Classic for broadcasting his fight with Joe Frazier (Frazier’s last opponent).
In the suit, Cummings said that ESPN Classic sought to “annihilate and destroy the seclusion of my private life …”
Prior to the broadcast of the fight, Cummings said he “lived a quiet and private life, free from the prying curiosity which accompanies either fame or notoriety, withdrawn from the public gaze, free from the insatiable interest of the great mass of people …”
He’s seeking $50 million in damages.
Oh one other small note…he’s currently serving a life sentence in prison for armed robbery.
