This rumor has been shot down by Renteria's agent. Renteria isn't a free agent yet, by the way. He first must be refused arbitration by the Tigers, which will not happen until next month. When next month, I don't know. What I do know is that anyone who signed him now would have to give up compensation picks, so obviously everyone will wait a week or two and go after him for free.
