Titans robbed

Jan. 10, 2009

joeflacco3Ok, they weren’t really robbed because they turned the ball over repeatedly inside enemy territory and took a bunch of stupid penalties throughout the game, but on a crucial third-and-long on the Ravens final scoring drive, Joe Flacco CLEARLY had the play clock hit zero.

He completed the pass to Todd Heap for a first down and the drive stayed alive. We understand that refs usually let the play clock go to zero for a split second and give the QB the benefit of the doubt. But there was no question here. There should have been a delay of game penalty called and there wasn’t. Third-and-15 ain’t easy to convert against the Titans.
