In a move that stunned the entire planet, including non-golf fans, Rocco Mediate pulled out of the Buick Invitational Monday morning. When word of his withdraw first hit, 99% of Mother Earth let out a collective, “ooohhhhhhhh,” that sounded identical to a golf crowd that just witnessed a close putt drifting off the edge of the cup.

It’s not known at this time what his reason was, but it’s because of a bum knee.

The Buick Invitational is set to take place at Torey Pines GC, the same place where Mediate almost upset Woods (his first name is unavailable at this time) at the U.S. Open last year.
