Jim Thomas from the St Louis-Dispacth writes that “league sources are convinced that the team is shopping Torry Holt and Orlando Pace,” he continues, “The club has been extremely tight-lipped on the futures of Holt and Pace. Then again, they’ve hardly said they fit into the team’s plans in 2009. At the NFL Scouting Combine, coach Steve Spagnuolo said only that the Rams would do what’s best for the team.”
Holt, 32, indicated that he is not interested in signing an extension with the Rams. He is only due $5.65 and $6.65 million in the last two years of his contract. He will become a free agent in 2010.
Pace, 33, doesn’t have any stats because he is an offensive tackle, but he is a seven-time Pro Bowler.
With it looking like TJ. Houshmandzadeh not having any chance of wearing midnight green next year, maybe the Philadelphia Eagles should seek a trade to land Torry Holt. There are rumors out there about Reggie Brown and a draft pick, but those were started by Howard Eskin a couple weeks ago. He mentioned the trade was on his wish list, then it blew up in the blog world as an actual rumor.
