Bengals bringing in Laveranues Coles

March 3, 2009

laveranuescolesGeoff Hobson from Bengals.com is reporting that free-agent wide receiver Laveranues Coles is scheduled to visit the Cincinnati Bengals today if he can fight through the East Coast snow storm.

A day after losing TJ Houshmandzadeh to the Seattle Seahawks, the Bengals need to find a player to replace their most consistent third-down receiver.  Despite being three months older than Houshmandzadeh, Coles could be that guy.

Coles is seeking $6 million per year and has already been denied by the Miami Dolphins.  According to published reports, Coles has already visited the Buffalo Bills.

Laveranues’ first name is very hard to spell, similar to Houshmandzadeh’s last name.

  3. I think this is a move the bengals have to make for a postive influence on the fans after the heartbreaking loss of cincinnati’s beloved reciever TJ Houshmanzadeh and for the young talent on the team. Being a life long Bengals fan myself the 2005 season was like a dream come true to me and im sure to alot of other Bengals fans. The last few seasons have been harder than the 90’s in my eyes because we have had the tools and ket so many walk out the door and this is the icing on the cake. bringing in Coles would be a silver lining in a VERY DARK CLOUD. We as a city need this.
