League sources have told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that Rams WR Torry Holt has asked for his outright release. Holt is due a $1.25 million roster bonus on March 17, so he’ll probably get his wish relatively soon. Holt knows that he’s no longer part of the Rams’ plans and that’s probably fine with him. They are garbage.
Would the Eagles possibly entertain the notion of bringing Holt in?
Holt admitted last year that he’ll probably be something like 85% for the rest of his career. Combine that with his age and declining skill set, and we aren’t really sure what he brings to the table at this point other than providing a name at the WR position. Holt was largely ignored in the Rams’ offense last year, and that’s saying something considering how awful they are.
