This is interesting. The Redskins hosted former Pittsburgh Steeler, Atlanta Falcon and Jacksonville Jaguar QB Byron Leftwich on Friday. This comes days after the team tried to smooth over the situation with Jason Campbell after they failed to land Jay Cutler.

But for Leftwich, it was made clear that he would only be a backup and would only play if Campbell got hurt or was ineffective in a start. Leftwich is a curious choice as a backup though. They run a hybrid West Coast offense and Leftwich struggled when that system was implemented in Jacksonville.
