We know that from time to time (and sometimes more than that) you like to tell us how crappy we are. And that’s just fine! We understand completely. But, if you really want us to understand how bad you think we are, you should scroll down on the right side of the blog and check out the little blue buttons that say “Vote for me.” It’s right under the BlogTopList button, which is just under the “Links” section.

Photo Caption: “Jesus Christ, Ken! Was that you or the dog?”

Nothing will let our editor Guilfoil know what a huge raft of crap this blog is, like clicking on that button. It takes two seconds. We dare you.

I’m usually a fan of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Aikman, in particular, usually does an excellent job.

Yesterday, that was not the case.

Aikman couldn’t have ripped Donovan McNabb more in the first half. Even throws that were completed drew two-minute soliloquys on what great things would have happened if he put the ball in a different place. Then he would be condescending and explain how important it is to make big plays in games like these. Thanks, Troy.

When McNabb threw a beautiful rainbow to Greg Lewis and Lewis flat out dropped it, that was McNabb’s fault too, according to Troy. He said Lewis was looking to the inside and McNabb made a mistake and put it on his outside shoulder. Well if he put it on his inside shoulder, the defender could have made a play on the ball. Greg Lewis dropped it. Where was the criticism of him? We always hear how great Peyton Manning is, but he isn’t throwing to Greg Lewis. He has Reggie Wayne.

And when Donovan brought the Eagles back with three consecutive TD drives to give the Eagles the lead? Aikman hardly showered him with compliments. 375 yards and 3 TD passes must be a crappy day according to Troy.

Neither Aikman nor Buck spent any time putting the blame in that first half where it clearly lied: the defense. They couldn’t get to Warner and were carved up on the ground and the air. But that was probably Donovan’s fault too.

Sources close to OTR have told OTR that OTR will be no more. It’s just not the same anymore and it wouldn’t fair to our loyal readers to continue to just go through the motions. We did have a great run though. We broke the Asante Samuel signing. We were the first to report the Eagles interest in Larry Fitzgerald. We still stand by our report that there was a crack in Jimmy Rollins ankle.

We’d rather just shut it down than to run a boring, poorly updated blog, which is what OTR is starting to become.

We can’t thank all of our readers enough. You guys have all been great and we had a ton of fun playing with everyone. Maybe we’ll do it again some day. We could have just let the blog die slowly and not update it, but that’s not fair to anyone. We thought we would give OTR a proper burial by at least letting everyone know that we are calling it quits.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 21st at 2 PM at the Lodi, NJ YMCA.

You can send thoughts and regards to MPerry_77@hotmail.com and MicahW@feverpitchmedia.com.

Happy Holidays to all of those in OTR land!!

Good for Coughlin for tightening the noose around Plaxico Burress.”

“To make such a blatant racist statement about an African-American football player with a neck injury is completely unacceptable,” Sharpton said. “Clearly, the racial connotation is very disturbing. … This is the verbal reflection of a hanging noose.”

Ummmm…what? I’ll be the first one to call out racism when I see it. But this? Al Sharpton, every time you play the race card in a benign instance like this, you are doing a disservice to the millions of people who had a legitimate gripe. What a colossal waste of everyone’s time.

“They have to act swiftly,” Sharpton said. “If we don’t see action, I will lay out exactly what that is … we would like to talk to someone there about whether it was the writer or editor who let this in.”

Does anyone really think that Serby’s verbiage had anything to do with Plaxico being black? This is one of the reasons that there are racial tensions in America and a big reason why we need to elect Obama.

All of his politics aside, it will put a highly intelligent African American in the highest position in the land, and hopefully take the spotlight off of people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson as black “leaders.”

Al Sharpton, you are doing your people no service with stupid waste-of-time claims like this. Couldn’t your energy be put towards something positive and, you know, productive?

Sort of. When Iliana Limon called into the UCF football conference call, he/she (we really don’t know) got more than he/she expected:

“When I dialed in, the voice on the other line said, “Hi sexy, you’ve reached the one-on-one fantasy line.” I gasped, hung up and figured I must have dialed the wrong number. So, I checked the UCF news release and dialed again, but I got the same phone sex hotline complete with offers I can’t really post on this blog.”

It turns out, the call-in number was one number off from a phone sex site. Leigh Torbin, UCF’s director of athletic communications (soon to be former director) was one number off when he/she (we really don’t know) wrote it down.

“Today’s scheduled call was not able to occur due to my own technical mistakes for which I deeply apologize,” Torbin wrote at the end of the latest news release announcing the Wednesday teleconference.

Perry has known this for years.

The article also says that minors have had access to booze as well. It continues:

“An additional public health service accomplished by the study was that it employed actors. Four thespians hired on the basis of their ability to appear drunk were planted at stadiums. And seven people over 21 but who looked much younger also attended games. The research involved sixteen sports arenas in five states. The apparently underage or intoxicated had three times the chance of making a successful alcohol purchase in the stands than at concession booths. Some people seem to go to games just to drink. They should consider staying home to drink. It’s much, much cheaper, they’ll be off the roads and most important, they’ll be spilling beer on the couch, not on me.”
