What the men forgot – and here is where the story takes a dark, deadly turn – was that Cutler is diabetic and was wearing a blood-sugar monitor.

“We gave him a Pro Bowl baptism,” Dielman told the Denver Post. “That was a prank where I thought we were smart enough to get the cell phone out of his pocket.

“But then, ‘Oops.’ ”

Oops!? Cutler was inches from his life when it was learned that the monitor was toast. Terror engulfed the Ihilani Resort in Hawaii as the pool was turned into a chlorine-filled death house.

“It was a bad audible on our part,” Manning said. “I think we were thinking right, trying to get the cell phone. Then we realize, the guy gets insulin shots. We missed that.”

Yeah, you missed that, Peyton. And the part about him being nearly killed isn’t accurate. They got him a new monitor shortly and everyone had a good laugh.

But, we wanted to scare all you kids out there who might be thinking of playing similar pranks. The lesson here is: Never play pranks because you never know who is diabetic.
