Let me thank…

the Philadelphia Eagles for reeling me in again so I can be slapped in the face.

L.J. Smith for dropping two passes, missing a block, missing a play causing a timeout, and not running out of bounds at the end of the game.

DeSean Jackson for dropping two passes that hit him right in the hands, one being a touchdown.

Reggie Brown for breaking on your route a half yard too early.

whoever is calling the plays for not running the ball.

Andy Reid’s decision to play a hurt Brian Westbrook over a healthy Correll Buckhalter at the end of the game.

whoever called 12 straight pass plays at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

whoever is calling 5-yard pass plays on 3rd and long.

whoever is calling pass plays in the middle of the field as precious time ticks away.

whoever is preparing this offense for a two-minute drill.

Andy Reid’s bonehead decision to draft Kevin Kolb with the 36th pick in the 2007 NFL draft. Seriously, if this weak-armed kid ever steps on the field as the starting quarterback of my Philadelphia Eagles, I might lose my voice every Sunday.

Donovan McNabb for making inaccurate throws that should be accurate, making the previous sentence possible.

the ‘gold standard.’

Kris Clemons for lining up in the neutral zone. It’s the little things that make you lose games like this.

Asante Samuel for dropping a much-needed interception as he cashes his huge paycheck.

Sav Rocca for not being able to punt with the wind at his back.

OTR for letting me vent.

**A little Perry note. Nobody can point the finger at Donovan McNabb for this loss. The surrounding offensive cast made key mistakes and there was horrendous play-calling throughout the game that killed drives. Again, too much weight was thrown on his shoulders. People other than Donovan and Brian Westbrook have to step up and make plays**

Sources close to OTR have told OTR that OTR will be no more. It’s just not the same anymore and it wouldn’t fair to our loyal readers to continue to just go through the motions. We did have a great run though. We broke the Asante Samuel signing. We were the first to report the Eagles interest in Larry Fitzgerald. We still stand by our report that there was a crack in Jimmy Rollins ankle.

We’d rather just shut it down than to run a boring, poorly updated blog, which is what OTR is starting to become.

We can’t thank all of our readers enough. You guys have all been great and we had a ton of fun playing with everyone. Maybe we’ll do it again some day. We could have just let the blog die slowly and not update it, but that’s not fair to anyone. We thought we would give OTR a proper burial by at least letting everyone know that we are calling it quits.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, December 21st at 2 PM at the Lodi, NJ YMCA.

You can send thoughts and regards to MPerry_77@hotmail.com and MicahW@feverpitchmedia.com.

Happy Holidays to all of those in OTR land!!

That is the big question being asked in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. There’s no doubt the Philadelphia Eagles’ offense is more of a threat with him on the field. It doesn’t make sense to see Greg Lewis dropping passes with DeSean on the sidelines.

PHOTO CAPTION: AP Photo/Tom Mihalek

So, what’s going on? Apparently, the buzz/rumor is DeSean’s messing up routes. Well, I don’t care. I want him on the field. L. J. Smith has been messing up routes and missing blocks for seven years, but I still see him on the field. Donovan McNabb continues to throw lasers at his receiver’s feet and choke at the end of games, but I still see him on the field. Andy Reid continues to fail at adjusting during the games and managing the clock, but he is still on the field (sideline). Andy Reid continues to ignore the importance of critical positions and make horrible management decisions, but he is still the GM. David Akers continues to miss FGs beyond the 45 yard line, but he is still on the field. Why are they picking on DeSean when the whole organization is full of employees that make mistakes?

Let’s review some of Andy’s recent mistakes (feel free to comment more mistakes and I will add them to the list):

the ridiculous signing of Chris Clemons

the horrible decision to make Tony Hunt the fullback and ignore the FB position

the horrible decision to franchise L.J. Smith and ignore the TE position (in a West Coast offense nonetheless)

trading for Lorenzo Booker, rather than drafting Felix Jones

having too much faith in David Akers

not challenging plays that should be challenged and challenging plays that shouldn’t be challenged

giving irritating press conferences every week for the past ten years

first and goal

second and goal

third and goal

fourth and goal

second and one

third and one

fourth and one

I could go on and on, but my main point in this rant is DeSean needs to be on the field. The more and more he plays, the better he will get. DeSean was wide open two times on Sunday and McNabb didn’t even look his way (why, because DeSean has messed up some routes?). McNabb should always be looking his way, even with the corner of his eye when DeSean isn’t the number one option. The kid gets open and makes plays. Without him on the field, they are an average team that doesn’t intimidate any opposing defense. And with the possibility of Westbrook not playing in the foreseeable future, it’s more critical than ever to get DeSean involved.

The Eagles continue to stay at the same level while the rest of the league gets better, yet Joe Banner/Andy Reid still consider their organization as the “gold standard.” That’s a joke. Joe and Andy need to start realizing they are the “old standard.”

With the sports world being ever so boring right now, I’m gonna take this time to vent.

You stupid packs of people that like to ride your bikes on the street, GET OFF THE ROAD!! Seriously, get off. I don’t like to share the road.

PHOTO CAPTION: If you see a group of bikers like this, annoy them.

You get up in the morning and put your dumb little Spandex shorts on and your dumb little Spandex shirts on. Wow, neat uniform you got on there. Then you hop on your 10-speed bike or whatever and ride to meet all your annoying buddies that are dressed in their Spandex body painted athletic gear, too. Then you decide to ride on the street in front of people in cars that are trying to get somewhere. I want to stop my car in front of you and open my door so you crash right into it. Get a motorcycle you tools. You are not wanted on the streets. Go to a park or something where you aren’t in the way. I will honk my horn to distract you every single time I pass you in my car. I will try to get as close to you as possible without hitting you to throw you off your rhythm; hopefully, scaring you so you move over and your tire hits the edge of the street causing your wheel to turn and you to fall off. I will get in front of you and slow my car down and not allow you to pass to show you how it feels. I will throw my beer can at you when I’m finished drinking it. My buddy in the passenger seat will try to reach out and slap you. I will yell obscenities.

You are annoying, so I will be annoying. GET OFF THE ROAD YOU ANNOYING BIKERS!!!!
